Misc info - tropical fungus = not good!

Misc Info:
***I am framing this quote and putting it up in his room:
texting. I have come to realize that you were absolutely right and that I texted way too much. But don’t worry I wont make that mistake again,
***Yesterday in Sunday School we talked about missionaries and the goals missions have for baptisms – so I asked Elder Lamb about that:
we can’t handle many baptisms right now. We are very picky and looking for families now. We don’t have a lot really. We have a very small mission also so we don’t get to have a lot of people taught by about 50 elders.
***
I love the scriptures now. I never knew how addicting the book of Mormon was. Ha-ha.
***Tropical foot fungus: no medicine yet and it is getting worse. It is kinda like athletes foot but not really and it is just from hotness and shoes to much. So now I wear sandals everywhere. Ha-ha.

Gondama Pday

Hey everyone,

Well let me start with the super p day that we had today. We went to the bush called Gondama. We went to the Sewa River. We went near the river and played a small game of football - aka soccer. In the river there were a bunch of men on hand carved wooden canoes with a motor for something. They were mining for either gold or diamonds or both. It was really cool.

After our game we came home to do our chores and now they said we must go to the cafe now and half our chores aren’t done and so it will be short today cause we have a dinner with the rest of the zone today. And then we have to finish our chores and go to family home evening. So it is a busy day and I am not to happy with the unorganization. But the river was cool to look at. Except there was millions of little flying insects that eat your flesh. Well I have about 40 bites and so does everyone else. That wasn’t so nice. But it was a decent day.

They have rock crawling on the TV in the cafe so I am very distracted. Ha-ha!! So here are your scriptures for the day.
Alma 50;22-23, 51:31, 53:16-20, 56:45-46, 57:25- I have a machete ;), 57:21, 57:25, 57:27, 58:10, 58:37, 58:40, 60:26, 61:13, 62:45,
Helaman 3:27-28, 3:35, 4:24, all of 5, 6:17, 7;16, 10;7Acts 20;7, 20:28-30,
1st Corinthians 2:1-5, 3:10, 3:16-17, 4:20, 6:9-10, 6:13, 7;31, 9:14, 10;'13, 10:27 monkey snake turtle. Ha-ha, 11:14, 11;24-29

Well that should be good for you. Well not much going on this week. Just trying to help my companion learn the area quick. Sorry no photos I am being rushed.

Lamb Cabin in Africa???

Hey everyone,

Well the computer is slow so I am typing this on word with spell check so it might end up typed correctly this week. Ha-ha the krio has spoiled my English anyways. (I guess he doesn't know I spell check these things - because he couldn't spell BEFORE he learned Krio - and it has only gotten worse - haha!!)

Well this week has been really good. I had some crazy food again but at the request of my mother no pictures again. Just a little turtle soup. Ha-ha Amy better watch out cause if she gets another one some day I might make some soup out of it. Ha-ha

Well I had a very nice baptism on Saturday and president squires himself joined us. I sent a nice picture of the family. Anthony and Abbie Smith with their daughter Florence. Florence screamed like a banshee when I baptized her mother. She thought the big white man was drowning her mother. It showed the love that she had for her mother and made it all the sweeter. They are an amazing family and doing great.

I found some old cow horns. People here don’t think horns are trophies. So I took them home and mounted them up on the house. It’s just like a lamb cabin now. President was rather jealous. Ha-ha it was really funny and gives it a touch of home now.

I developed a crazy rare tropical foot fungus that is almost impossible to find a medicine in this country to cure it. Pretty cool huh. Well sister squires looked everywhere and finally found a half decent one until the doctor in Ghana sends some in the mail. So I get to put some nice smelling cream on my feet and lower leg every morning and night. Pretty crazy huh. Don’t worry I wont die or lose my feet. Just have a few scars maybe. Ha-ha

Well I have to say a huge thank you to frank for the quick delivery. Thank you.

I also have a tip for you pouch letter senders. Take a picture and make a color copy on paper and write around it and send it. Those who have sent pictures in a little envelope know that they never arrive here so this way you can still send me some pics. Thanks for the letters I love them so much. Keep them up.

Here are your studies for this week:

Acts 10:34, 13:3, 14:23, 15:11, 17:29,
1st Thessalonians 4:3, 5:28,
2nd Thessalonians 2:2-3, 3:5, 3:13
Alma 38:8-9, 38:12, 39:8, 39:14, 39:17-19, 40 all, 41:10, 42 all, 44:3, 45:1, 46:8, 46:12, 47:36, 48:17,
I think that should be good for you this week.

I am happy and sad to say that I am revamping my obedience on mission so it will only be emails to family from now on. You are all welcome to send emails and pictures but I cannot reply anymore. Thank you for your understanding and just get on the dear elder page and send it as a letter instead. I like those better anyways.

Thanks and love Elder lamb

Mushroom burgers - YUM!!!

Elder Lamb in the bush of Bo - He looks so HOT!! As in dying of the heat HOT!! He assured me that he did shower after and has gotten his hair cut since this picture was taken. :)Hey Everyone,
This week has been weird for me. My companion left on Tuesday night, so I was with a branch missionary for 3 days. It was so different and I felt so awkward with no companion. Elder Gifford arrived straight from Liberia on Friday evening. Everything is so different for him it’s almost like he just got from the mtc. But I am helping him to learn more about the place and he will just have to adjust over time.
Nothing much this week. I am no longer sick and I am just working hard as always. Today we created something amazing in the kitchen. We found burger patties so we made mushroom burgers. Yeah it was the best thing I have created in a long time. My companion is 1 year on Friday so we are planning to have a little party with something.
I found many good scriptures this week so here you go.
Alma 26:11-12, 26:22, 26:37, 28:13-14, 29:1-10, 30:32-34, 31:5, 32:10-12, all of 34, 36:3, 36:21, 37:6, 37:33, 37:35-37, 37:38-48,
1st John 3:22,
Acts 3:19-21, 4:10-12, 4:32, 5:29, 5:38-39,
Well I think that should be good for you. The pics are of me in the newest bush adventure and hopefully when elder Albright had to carry his suitcase on a Honda. ha-ha!!

Sick with Malaria

Elder Lamb called this picture: The Orphan Children I love the slide in the background!! And they all look so happy to have their picture taken by their friend the BIG white man!!
Hey everyone,
Well to start off I guess I should tell you that monkey soup is really nice and I love it. Almost as much as snake soup. Anyways that is a topic for when I get home. This week sucked since I was sick with malaria for 4 days. But I still went about to do my work. I just had to come home and nap 2 times a day while we were out. It’s amazing how much your head can hurt. Well anyways I am doing much better and working hard again. All is well now.
Well we had 3 people enter the waters of baptism on Saturday and it was very nice to see them make that covenant. They are all doing well and working hard and I am happy with them.
Well I guess I should spill the beans that I am not going on transfer and my companion is going to my original area in Liberia. I was pretty excited for him. My new companion will arrive on Friday. His name is Elder Gifford from Salt Lake. He is near one year on mission now and not much else changed in Bo.
Well this was a challenging week but very rewarding. I know that it wasn’t very easy but I had to get my work done. Somehow the lord blessed me with healing so that I can get going again. All is well all is well.
Well I still managed to get some studys in this week. Rules are rules so here you go.
Alma 11:40-46, 13:15, 13:27, 19:36, 24:10, 24:30,
John chapters 14 and 15, and 16:13-14, and 16:33
and the last best one: 1 Nephi 19:9
Well I think that should do you over pretty well. I am excited for the work and for my new companion. There is much to be done in my large area and the branch is growing large now so we get a lot of load to carry. But all is well and I love it.
Love
Elder Lamb
Keep writing please!!!
