Moving on a motorcycle - with luggage

Hey everyone,
Things are going good this week and I am just working hard like always. Being a zone leader aint to bad actually. I just have to take numbers and compile reports and make sure the other elders are doing there best and being obedient and stuff. I get to travel to Freetown next week and stay with the assistants so we can have what’s called a zone council. Where the zone leaders come together and discuss how to help the zone with president and the assistants there. It should be fun
On Friday elder Dickson of the 70 should be coming out to Bo for a zone conference and district fireside. It should be a lot of fun. I am kind of nervous and excited because as a zone leader I get to have an interview with him one on one. It should be really cool for me. But I am just nervous that I will do some thing retarded liked I normally am. Ha-ha well we will see I guess.
Rainy season is in full effect now. It rains quite often now. Not as bad as Liberia last year but just a little bit of rain now and then. It sure makes washing your clothes hard when they never dry. But I am doing my best and I just iron them to speed up the process. It is kind of funny and sad at the same time.
In church on Sunday the man giving the opening prayer got up and asked everyone to stand up to pray. The branch president had to get up and stop him and tell everyone to sit down and pray. It was rather funny. Then in elders quorum we asked what people like about the church. One man said home teaching. Then the teacher asked him if he does his home teaching. The man said. "Don’t ask me. No stop." Then the whole class just busted up because we all know that no one wants to do home teaching here. We can hardly get them to church. Ha-ha.
My foot is getting much better now with my steroid cream. It should be well in a week or 2. I am working out like crazy now so maybe it will help. Ha-ha. Sister Squires said it wouldn’t be enough to get to my muscles really so I don’t think it will do anything.
I had to move on Friday. I have one big suitcase a backpack and a small suitcase. I carried the backpack and big suitcase on the back of a motorcycle!!!! It was a long ride and my abs are killing me. I just held on for dear life and prayed that I would arrive alive. And somehow I did. Ha-ha.
Well we don’t have a fridge because the old one broke. But Elder Peterson is on one of his last runs out to Bo before he goes home so hopefully it will come today. It should be a nice one since we have good light almost all day now. Our generator is kind of sketchy now but I am a pretty good repair man so I got it running again the other day. Just no maintenance out here.
Well here are your scriptures for the week:
Ether, 3 all, 4:6-11,17-19, 7:23, 8:22-26, 9:28, 10:19, 12:3-4, 23, 26-27, 34, 38-41, 14:18, 15:2, 19, 34,
Moroni 1:2-4, 6 all, 7:4-8, 13-17, 39, 40-41, 44-48, 8all, 9:4, 6, 22, 25, 10 all.
And now I am done again!!!
I hope that my scriptures have lead you to a deep love of the scriptures which I now have. And I hope that you will help me to stay strong in it when I get back. Thank you all for your support and keep up the letters. I love reading them.

Transfers = Same city + old apartment

Hey everyone,

Well the work is going sweet out here in Bo. The line is down so I am using word to type this.

Well here is the big news of the day: Elder lamb is going on transfer again. Yup! That’s right. So I am staying in the same town and zone and I am going back to the first apartment I was in with Elder Echi-aboli - The Sewa Road apartment and I am in the Sewa Road Branch. We meet at the same chapel that I am currently meeting and it is pretty much just the neighbor branch.

Elder Yardley is in my apartment with a Sierra Leonean. Elder Borwah is getting a new American elder. Don’t know who yet. And my companion is Elder Muthwa from South Africa. He was there in my first apartment on mission in Liberia. Now we are companions. He is going home on my birthday. Feb 1st. Not much has really happened besides that.

Well not much is going on this week. I went and did a service project for my new branch president. You can just call me Edward scissor hands because I am a bush cutting machine. We just trimmed his bushes and had a good time.

Elder Gunderson is leaving for Liberia. Now I have no one to update me on twilight and Disney songs. It’s ok, I am excited to be in the same apartment as a new American and to see someone with huge eyes like I used to have.

Well the work is sweet and I am sure that Elder Yardley will let the congosar network know what I am just going to tell you anyways. The Lord wants me to be a zone leader for some crazy reason. I don’t know how to explain it except Isaiah 55:8-9. Well I think it is 8 and 9. Hopefully I can give my best and that is good enough. I should learn a lot I guess. Ha-ha! well now everyone knows and there are no surprises. Ha-ha!

In the next few weeks you should see a large influx of pictures. I sent all my cds full of pictures home with Elder Rogers so you should get some new pics soon.

Here are your scriptures at least.
Romans 12:1-2, 12:21, 13:8, 14:17, 15:1,
Acts 26:8, 28,
Colossians 1:9-16, 2:8, 3 all.
4th Nephi 1:12, 15, 24,
Mormon 1:19, 2:19, 3:3, 9, 17-22, 5:13-15, 22-24, 6:16-19, 7 all, 8:24-41, 9:20-21, 27-29,
Ether 2:3, 14, 17-18, 23

Well that’s about it. I leave for my former apartment on Friday. I get to carry my suitcase on the back of a motorcycle so that should be interesting. Haha! Well I love you all and hope that you can all write me some letters sometime. Haha

Love Elder Lamb

Misc Info and the Congosar Network

**Spencer’s “disease”: yup I got my medicine and it is slowly going down. I get to take steroid cream. Haha! Don’t worry I will be fine.
**Well I should be in good shape if I finish my mission in the mountains. Looks like I will be in Bo until next year maybe. Haha!!
**I told him that the YW are going to read the Book of Mormon in 100 days to pass off Personal Progress: sweet. I am trying to finish it right now. But looking into the future I won’t have much extra time to read now so maybe one more before I come home.
**Funerals in Africa: you don’t want to know it is pure insanity.
** I asked him what is congosar network: that is you and all the other moms little network of information. Elder Rogers thought it was funny. (I don’t think Elder Rogers is all that funny!! But no one tell him until I get Spencer’s pictures!! And I still think it is some African word he isn’t telling me the true meaning of!)
**And because I don’t know all of this mission “lingo’: Me and Muthwa are the zone leaders. We are in charge of the Bo zone. aka 12 elders. A district leader is in charge of temporal things. he is in charge of the house and only the elders in the house. Zone Leaders have more responsibility and have to instruct and teach the elders of the zone.

Two years are up...for some....not for Elder Lamb

Elder Lamb and Elder Albright (from Idaho)
Hey everyone,

Everything is going good. My feet disease thing is fine and Sister Squires found me some medicine that should work so don’t worry. Things are going pretty good now.

They just split my branch into 2. The Njagboima Branch and the new London branch. I go to church at 8-11 and 12-3. Yeah lots of fun I guess. Ha-ha!! Well I will talk with President to see if I have to stay the whole time. Most likely I will. But that’s ok and I don’t mind too much. Church is more of a game to make sure everything goes ok anyways. It should be fine.

Well on a very sad note, one of my best investigators, Brother Moses Sesay, passed away on Saturday. It was very sad because he was doing so well. But its ok, he is taking the lessons from much better teachers now and we just gotta get his wife to understand and continue on. It was sad for me but I have the gospel light so it’s not that bad.

The Petersons go home here pretty soon so that is really sad also. I got to see them on Saturday as they brought some things out for the new branch. It was nice and we helped them assemble a few things. They are really nice and I will miss them, but the Jones are still here and are getting to know the area small. Ha-ha!! I got some new ties called jatalas. They are the African best I guess. So I will come home and bluff with them I guess. Ha-ha!!

I have sent all my pictures home with Elder Rogers, who leaves next Wednesday. So everyone should be seeing a ton of pics here pretty soon. I kinda wanted to make my mom wait but she is too antsy so I have to send them. Hopefully they make it alive or else there will be no pics. Ha-ha!!

Elder Rogers one of my best friends is going home along with many others next week. Which means transfer time is here again. We will find out on Saturday so I will let you know what happens next week. I don’t think I am going anywhere, but I never know that. Revelation can be very far from what I think so who knows.

Here are your scriptures:
*3rd Nephi 15:9, 16-24, 16;7, 18:18-21, 32, 19 all, how many times does he say to kneel while praying in chapter 19?, 21;4, 9, 23:1, 5, 24:8-10, 25:5-6, 26:9, 27:5-8, 16-21, 27:33,
*Galatians 1:6-12, 2;21, 4:7, 18, 28, 5:1, 13-16, 19-26, 6:7,
*Romans 1:16, 2:7, 13, 16, 3:23, 5:3-5, 6:23, 8:6, 16-17
well that should be good for you.

Enjoy the picture of me and Elder Albright right before he left. Wow! it’s been a while now. Ha-ha!!
Love,
Elder Lamb

Dating counselor - rice planter - mtn climber

---The Njagboima Chapel ---

This is the chapel in Elder Lamb's area. 2 Branches now use it, 3 soon. It is "kinda sorta" like a chapel in America only it is a "crapily done one of the American versions. The pillar spike thing is shipped from America." Zone Conference P-day in the bush of Bo (a couple of months ago)

Hey everyone,
Sorry I was having a rough time last week. All is better now. Just a little stressed since I have so many things on my mind but I am doing much better now. Except they found out that my leg doesn’t have a fungus it is something else. The pictures are on the way to salt lake now ha-ha. Well I don’t know what it is. It is just spreading. Sister Squires is taking good care of me and president says I can have one of many wheelchairs we have in storage. Ha-ha.

Well the main reason I have been so stressed is the fact that they are splitting my branch. Now I can finally tell you mom. ha-ha well it takes a whole heck of a lot of work to redo a map and do all that fun stuff and also train a companion on how to speak krio and mende. Ha-ha but it has been fun and a good experience for me and I have learned a lot from it.

On Thursday we helped an investigator named Alpha to plant his rice farm in the swamp. We waded in ankle deep muck and stuck pieces of growing rice into the muck. It is actually really easy to do and kinda fun when you get the hang of it. You can see rice everywhere in the swamp now because of the rainy season is the best to grow it. Hopefully it will help alpha. He is a little reluctant to join us but I think this will really help him.

In church yesterday we were in Sunday School and there was a small fire in one of the lights in the sacrament room. So the rest of church was dark. Ha-ha. Well it wasn’t too bad. It stopped really fast and almost no damage was done. It should be and easy fix if the man to fix it is honest. We will see about that one too I guess.

Today me and my companion Elder Gifford decided to go for a hike. Except we got a phone call from a sister and had to go help her not leave the church because her fiancé dumped her or something. So half our p day was spent as dating counselors then we got to go and climb up Kandeh Mountain. There is just a bunch of cell phone towers but there was a nice view. We then came home to do all the chores and stuff that we have to do.

Well I don’t know what the next transfer will bring. I either get to cover 2 branches or get split. I guess we will see. Maybe I will have to become a district leader. I am kinda hoping that I stay just a senior companion. Ill be what you want me to be I guess.

Here are your scriptures for the week.
Helaman 11:23, 12:1, 13:6, 14:8, 30-37, 15:6-8, 3rd Nephi 1:22, 3:25, 4:10, 4:33, 5:3,13, 6:14, 7:5, 18, 9:13-22, 10:14, 10:18-19, all of 11, 12:29-30, 12:48, 13:19-21, 33, all of 14,
1st Corinthians 12:27-31, 14:19, 23, 33, 15:29, 15:58, 16:13-14,
2nd Corinthians 5:7, 10, 17, 6:4-10, 7:9-11, 8:11-12, 9:6-7, 11:13-15, 12:2, 7-10

Well I think that should be good for you. I still have a few emails to the family so until next week keep writing me some letters.
Love
Elder lamb
